Health Data Privacy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Some states, including Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut, give health information special legal protection and require a policy that covers it specifically. This is that policy. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, and where this page is more protective, this page wins.
This policy covers both the Haven mobile app and this website (joinprojecthaven.com). “Haven,” “we,” and “us” mean Haven App LLC, the entity responsible for the consumer health data described here.
What counts as health data here
Haven exists for people who love someone struggling with addiction. Because of what the app is for, much of what you share can count as consumer health data under these laws, including:
- What you write in conversations with Haven, our AI companion.
- What you write in your journal.
- Anything you choose to tell us about your loved one's substance use, and anything about your own wellbeing, sleep, stress, or emotional state.
- Your onboarding answers: your relationship to the person you love, how long you have been carrying this, and what you need most right now.
We do not collect your precise location, biometric information, or voice recordings, and we do not attempt to identify health information about you from other sources.
Why we collect it, and the only things we do with it
One purpose: to run Haven for you. Your words power your conversations, your journal, and, if you turn memory on, Haven's ability to remember your situation between conversations. That is the whole list.
- We never sell your health data, and never have.
- We never use it for advertising. Haven has no ads.
- We never share it with data brokers or marketers.
- We never use it to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
A small set of services process data on our instructions to make Haven work: Anthropic processes your conversations so the AI can respond, and deletes them from its systems within about 30 days; Supabase hosts our database in the United States; Resend delivers our emails; RevenueCat manages subscriptions; Expo delivers notifications. Each is a processor bound to use your data only to provide its service to us. None of them may use your health data for their own purposes.
Your consent, and how to take it back
We ask for your consent to collect and use health data on its own screen in the app, separate from accepting our Terms, because that is your decision to make separately. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account in Settings, which permanently erases your conversations, journal, and profile. If you want to withdraw consent but keep your account, email hello@projecthaven.com and a person will help you directly.
Your rights
Depending on your state, you have the right to know what health data we have about you, to get a copy, to have it deleted, and to withdraw consent, all without being penalized for asking. Email us at the address above and we will honor these requests for anyone, in any state, within 30 days. If you believe we have fallen short, you can also contact your state attorney general.
Changes
If this policy changes in any way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies to you, and this page will always show the date it was last updated.
