Delete your account

The short version

  • You can delete your Haven account, and everything in it, anytime from inside the app.
  • Open Haven, go to Settings, and tap Delete account.
  • If you cannot open the app, email us and we will delete it for you.
  • Deletion is permanent. Your journal, conversations, posts, and profile are erased for good.

Haven is built for the people loving someone through addiction, and a lot of what you share here is tender. You are always in control of it. This page explains how to permanently delete your Haven account and all of your data.

The fastest way: delete it in the app

  1. Open the Haven app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings (the ··· menu on the home screen).
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account and all of your data are erased right away.

If you can’t get into the app

No problem. Email us from the email address on your account at hello@projecthaven.com with the subject “Delete my account.” We will verify it is you and permanently delete your account and data within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently erase:

  • Your profile and account (email, username, and settings).
  • Your journal entries.
  • Your conversations with the Talk to Haven companion.
  • Anything you posted in the community, your reactions, and your reports.
  • Your messages and intro inside any private pod.
  • Any feedback you sent us.

This is permanent and cannot be undone. It happens across all of your devices.

What may remain, and for how long

  • If you subscribed to Haven Plus, the subscription itself is managed by Apple or Google. Deleting your Haven account does not cancel it. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play so you are not billed again. We remove our own record of the subscription.
  • We may keep basic, non-identifying security logs (like request timestamps) for a short period to keep the service safe and prevent abuse. These are not used to identify you and are not shared.
  • We may retain information if the law genuinely requires it. That is the rare exception, not how Haven works.
